Alignment Plans

During this stage, alignment plans are created (how people plan to live their credo within the business going forward), and alignment teams are provided for support. These teams are made up of various people from various areas of the business. Teams meet monthly, and the intent of each meeting is for people to share how they’re integrating the alignment plan into their lives. The conversation gives people the opportunity to talk about challenges, celebrate successes, and support each other along the eight-month journey.

Everyone in the business has the responsibility to meet with their direct leader monthly to seek support and guidance in an effort to integrate the alignment plan into business-as-usual activity. Alignment plans may initiate job changes, reallocation of role assignments, and/or add additional initiatives to team strategies. It’s the responsibility of the leader to be open to change, support everyone on the team, and help people think of creative ways to move their alignment plan forward in the business.

A critical component of the process is a predetermined leadership committee made up of eight functional leaders from different areas of the business. This committee is specifically created to mitigate potential challenges caused by leaders who are not modeling functional behaviors. The committee is given the authority to intervene and support people when necessary. People are encouraged to go directly to the committee if they experience challenges with their direct leader.
